Earlier today Microgaming announced their forthcoming “Grand Slam of Slots” tournament in a press release to the online gambling industry. The promotion will make one lucky gamer a millionaire and share out a total of 1.3 Million Euros to 481 other players. The aptly named tournament is timed to run in conjunction with that most prestigious of grand slam tournaments currently underway at Wimbledon, this is why Microgaming have named this tournament a Grand Slam, because it is being billed as the most prestigious on online gambling tournaments.

Qualification for this mammoth tournament is due to commence today and will continue to run all the way to mid October, with the finals scheduled to be held between October 22 and November 2. A leader board will be made available to players in order for them to be able to track their current positions over the 16 freeroll qualifiers due to be held on the following Microgaming games: Avalon, Hitman, Thunderstruck and Tomb Raider. The final is due to be played on Tombraider and the quite staggering winnings on offer are as follows: €1million will go to the first place, second place will take home €50,000 and third place will be awarded €25,000. The prize amounts will successively decrease from third to 250th place. 251st to 450th positions will all take €100 each, whilst 32 special prizes of €1,000 each will also be awarded. Microgaming forecasts that 9000 players will take part and of those 482 will receive prizes.
