African Palace Casino holding onto player’s winnings
African Palace Casino recently came under fire by failing to pay out winning to a certain customer who had won 8.5 million Rands (approx $1 Million) on the Beach Life progressive slot. African Palace made a big deal of the win, using Marie van Wyk, 66, to publicise the online casino. Photographs of Mrs. Van Wyk appeared on their website holding a giant mock check of her winnings.
However the casino only agreed to pay the lucky winner in a total of 6 monthly instalments. The inordinately lucky Van Wyk, who had also taken the casino of 64000 Rands in the past trusted that they would honour the arrangement and pay her as per the arrangement. However the instalments dried up at 2.8 million Rands, stopping completely in April. Marie threatened the Casino that she would make the case public, in a recent statement she said "I have won several times before and never have my winnings been paid out in instalments." African Palace have declined to comment, saying only that the company is in the process of resolving the matter. Complains against the casino have also been made by other players who argue against the sites policy of paying out winnings in instalments.
