Online Roulette game reviews - Play Roulette for free or real money!

Roulette is the casino game ever. It can be found in both land-based casinos and online casinos. It is pure gambling that combines a touch of luxury with a dose of thrills, always with the chance to win big money fast.
Roulette is played since the 18th century and is that classic game under all the casino games and should not be missed in any casino or online casino! Especially in Europe, next to Blackjack, Baccarat and Craps is Roulette the runner in the casino gambling world.
Roulette is one of the richest and most exciting casino games with high chances of winning (35-times of your bet), and is very easy to learn. In addition, it offers a lot of different betting options for players who love their "personal lucky numbers" to bet on or prefer certain betting systems and tracking patterns in consecutive games to use.
Thanks to the web-revolution in the late 90s the new era has ushered into casino roulette, because nowadays, players who have the desire for a fast speed spin, but are not in the position to travel for a weekend to Las Vegas or Monte Carlo simply register into their favorite online casino comfortably from home.
Although roulette is also a very popular casino game in the casinos of the United States, it has never achieved the popularity which it enjoys in Europe. Since the casinos in the U.S. earn with roulette in the category table games the least money, there is only one roulette table in some casinos available. Partly it is also due to the fact that roulette in the U.S. is simply not as popular as in Europe.
The Roulette Wheel
There are two different roulette wheels. The European wheel has 37 slots numbered 0-36 and the house edge is 2.63 percent. The American wheel has 38 numbers because it has an added double zero (00). The addition of the extra number increases the house edge to 5.26 percent.
Tip: At the European Roulette the house edge is only half as big as by the American Roulette!
The Roulette Table Layout
The game of Roulette originated in France. The modern day layout as we find it in the casino nowadays dates back to 1842. Roulette layouts have two betting areas. The inside betting area contains the individual numbers and the outside betting area has boxes for the columns, red/black and odd/even and different groups of numbers.
The numbers on the inside are arranged in 12 rows of three numbers forming three vertical columns. The 0 and 00 are at the top of the columns.
In the classic Roulette we distinguish between the well-known French Roulette and American Roulette:
French Roulette
 | Classic French Roulette is played at double tables: Consists of a long with green cloth (Tapis) covered table and the roulette wheel (Cylindre), which is inserted in a hollow with left and right fields (tableau) for the bets. In land-based Casinos usually every table is run by eight employees of the casino, 4 Croupiers and at the two ends of each head sits another dealer. Each half of the table has its own ‘Chef de table’ in charge. Nowadays, however, French Roulette is played mainly on single tables, which are managed by only four dealers: The roulette wheel is located on one end of the table and there is only one panel, which is located in the middle of the table. The roulette wheel, which is usually made out of ebony, consists of a rotating disc that has been lowered into a bowl. This rotating disc has 36 alternating red and black number fields as well as a 37th field marked in green especially for the "0" zero. The winning number will be determined with the help of a marble formerly made out of ivory. |
American Roulette
 | American Roulette, as it is played in European Casinos, is different from how the game is played in the U.S., especially due to the fact that in Europe the French Roulette wheel has 37 numbers 1-36 and 0. In contrast, the numbers in the American wheel are not only arranged differently, but also contain “00” double-zero as the 38th number. Because of that the house edge with 2 / 38 = 5.26% in American Roulette is significantly greater than in Europe. Since the American Roulette consists of a "0" Zero and "00" double zero there is no Tronc – so the expected loss of the player’s bet of a whole number corresponds to an approximate ratio of 5.26% vs. 5.40% in the classical Roulette. With all other betting options, of course, the European way of playing is more advantageous. |
As said, Roulette is one of the oldest casino games and one of the easiest. Basically, all you need to know in order to start playing Roulette are your personal favorite numbers and the color.
Meanwhile, the best online Casinos offer many different versions of online Roulette, where there's something for every taste.
