A founding member of the PartyGaming Network. Party Poker opened quite a long time ago now, back in 2001 and is widely held up as an example of the prototypical online poker room, having been the inspiration for so many other imitators that were to come along after it. Party Poker is also one of the biggest online poker rooms you are likely to find on the Internet. Peak times used to draw in a staggering amount of players, in excess of 80,000 to be precise, the rest of the time you'd be likely to find an average of 45,000 players sat at a poker table. Ultimately there is something at Party Poker for every single type of online poker player, try it out for yourselves and see.

Ranks #7, because offers software in 16 languages and plenty of country- and region-specific tourneys and promotions. Reviewed 05/05/2008 14:34:38, by Darius Royle
Due to U.S. legislation preventing credit card companies from collecting payments for wagers made by U.S. residents, Everest Poker has determined to suspend all real-money gaming business in the United States.
Everest Poker is a truly multilingual poker room that has established a solid player base with plenty of growth potential. The software comes in all major languages, among them French, Japanese, German, Italian, Portuguese, Norwegian, Dutch, Danish, Swedish and Spanish. In total, 16 languages are supported.
Overall, Everest Poker offers good software and amazing action for Hold’em players in particular. The mix of players is unique in that many of the loosest and craziest are at the medium and high limits, making Everest Poker extremely profitable for skilled players.

Ranks #8, because EuroPoker offers some decent promotions and has a loyalty program as well Reviewed 05/05/2008 18:14:38, by Darius Royle
EuroPoker is yet another great poker room with great software. You get a very solid software package with industry leading features and superb graphics. Add to that a really high traffic rate of users, who unfortunately reside mostly in Texas Hold’em No Limit. The tournament traffic is also good, with thousands of players in various scheduled games, sit’n’goes and alike. The signup bonus is above the average and a good reason for you to register and try to claim it, but as far as promotions go, this network lacks what the real giants offer. If you are a Mac or Linux user, you will be happy to learn that this room also offers support through instant download software, so you will be able to play at work, at home or on foot, no matter what.

Ranks #10, because of their nice interface, with colorful graphics and outstanding financial security!!! Reviewed 05/06/2008 20:11:18, by Darius Royle
Similar to Titan Poker, Noble Poker possesses, in our opinion, the best visual design on the Internet today, with cool 2D and 3D options, different viewing angles, background music, and other audio features. This in itself makes Noble Poker a room worth visiting. With amazing software and an aggressive marketing strategy, Noble Poker is quickly gaining popularity which only makes the choices and opportunities at the site even better. But that's not all that's positive about Noble Poker. The promotions are also impressive, including a free $10 and a bonus of 25% of your original deposit, up to a $100 maximum. Clearly Noble Poker is a room that's trying to make an impression on the online poker community; we think they're doing a good job. The only thing we dislike is Noble's the fact that there's still not enough competition here to match up to other casinos. But check it out for the dynamic graphics and to be a part of this sites climb into the upper echelon of poker rooms online.

Due to U.S. legislation preventing credit card companies from collecting payments for wagers made by U.S. residents, PokerRoom has determined to suspend all real-money gaming business in the United States.
PokerRoom is a very popular poker room and a leader on the Ongame network, using Ongame's platform with a shared player base. The PokerRoom software has a unique design and good functionality and there is both a downloadable version and a Java client. The downloaded version is sleeker and more reliable, but the Java client works very well too. The PokerRoom software is also one of the best choices for Mac users, who can play the Java version without any special installs.
PokerRoom focuses on six-handed tables more than most other top rooms. There are many special promotions such as money-added tournaments, freerolls and qualifiers to big poker events. PokerRoom also offers great statistical analysis of your game and an open database of the hands played at the site.

One of the most commonly cited facts about online poker is that it is almost solely responsible for the unprecedented increase in the number of Poker players worldwide, and also in the resurgence of the game. Many a seasoned Poker player has had the experience of sitting across a fresh faced internet poker player who has learned his game and earned his stripes in cyberspace. The reason commonly attributed to the abilities and younger age of these online poker champions is the fact that playing online seems to drastically speed up the learning curve. A 22yr old online poker player may have taken part in as many big tournaments online whereas in real life he would have to spend a lot of time on the road to gain that sort of experience. This is also why there has been an increase in the number of players from an internet poker background that appear regularly in the World Series of Poker, with the both the 2003 and 2004 winners of the tournament having gained qualification through online poker playing. Currently online poker revenues are said to be somewhere close to $2 Billion annually, making online poker of the most valuable assets to the online gambling industry. One of the main differences between Online Poker and Card Room Poker is the speed of the game. Online Poker is a much faster game, with no stops for gathering cards and shuffling, and shorter delays between hands. Players do not have the facility to see each other, to read mannerisms, body language, eye movement and patterns of speech. Instead they focus in on card strategy, reaction time, and other non physical behaviour. And with many online casinos offering free games requiring no buy in, beginners can quickly get to grips with one of the biggest gambling games of our times, and maybe soon enough, get to the finals of tournaments, both online and in the real world.
